Job Description

Account Manager renewing and expanding Guidebook’s higher education software accounts. Managing pipelines, forecasts, and institutional relationships through remote sales and campus travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and grow a portfolio of higher education customers
  • Retain and renew accounts while expanding them into new departments, use cases, and budget holders
  • Build pipeline from scratch and pursue new business within existing institutions
  • Manage forecasts, including committed and at-risk opportunities
  • Report directly to the President
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, marketing, customer success, product, and the new business team
  • Learn Guidebook’s product, higher education story, and ideal customer profile
  • Manage the portfolio, contact every account, and identify expansion opportunities
  • Run renewal and expansion calls, demos, discovery, outbound, and closing activities
  • Travel to meet customers and prospects on campuses and at industry events every 1-2 months on average
  • Support onboarding the next Account Manager

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in SaaS
  • Track record of building pipeline and hitting a quota
  • Completed university degree
  • Ability to speak credibly about how universities and colleges work
  • Comfortable using Salesforce or another CRM to manage pipeline
  • Ability to build pipeline from scratch, grow accounts, manage forecasts, and pursue expansion opportunities
  • Must be based on the East Coast of the USA
  • Willingness to travel frequently to industry events, trade shows, and campuses
  • Ability to travel approximately 6-8 times per year
  • Coachable, curious, ambitious, resourceful, and accountable
