Job Description
Account Manager bei Nikon, einem Anbieter von Mikroskopie- und Imaging-Lösungen. Betreuung wissenschaftlicher Kunden und Ausbau des Life-Science-Vertriebs in Norddeutschland.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on and sell high-end microscopy and imaging solutions in the Life Science / Healthcare sector
- Manage and strategically expand an existing customer base in research, teaching and industry
- Acquire new scientific customers and develop long-term partnerships
- Responsible for sales performance, project pipeline and product-related margins within the sales territory
- Plan, conduct and document customer meetings, product demonstrations and scientific discussions
- Provide technical support for application questions in close cooperation with applications and service specialists
- Support basic microscopes in clinical and university environments throughout the entire sales process
- Prepare technical quotations and process tenders for scientific institutions
- Maintain and develop sales projects in the CRM system
- Monitor the market and competitors and derive recommended actions
- Represent the company at trade fairs, congresses and scientific events
Requirements:
- University degree in a natural science (e.g., Biology, Biophysics, Life Sciences or equivalent)
- Solid hands-on/user knowledge in microscopy (stereomicroscopy, basic inverted and upright microscopy, etc.)
- (Initial) sales experience or a strong interest in a science-oriented sales or consulting role
- Experience working with university structures, research institutes or publicly funded organizations
- Knowledge of procurement and tendering processes in academic research is an advantage
- Excellent presentation and communication skills at a technical level
- Structured, independent working style and strong self-organization
- Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
- Confident use of MS Office and, ideally, CRM systems
- Driving license class B and willingness to travel within the Northern region
- Ideally residing in the Hamburg area or nearby
- Ability to communicate scientific content clearly and translate it into practical solutions
- Enjoyment of consultative customer conversations in an academic environment
- Persuasiveness, negotiation skills and professional communication on equal terms with scientists
- Persistence and composure when handling complex decision-making processes
