Job Description
Remote business development consultant expanding Medtronic’s cranial and spinal healthcare technology portfolio. Building hospital relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and advancing strategic customer solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business development and market development plans aligned with organizational priorities
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across assigned markets and accounts
- Build and maintain relationships with surgeons, hospital leaders, health systems, distributors, and other key stakeholders
- Assess customer needs and recommend solutions that maximize the value of Medtronic’s products and services
- Conduct market, customer, and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
- Develop account and opportunity strategies, including stakeholder mapping, value propositions, and action plans
- Partner with sales, marketing, clinical, medical education, finance, contracting, and other cross-functional teams
- Communicate customer insights, competitive intelligence, and product feedback to internal stakeholders
- Support product launches, customer education, demonstrations, workshops, and strategic business initiatives
- Track opportunity pipelines, activity, and outcomes; provide updates and recommendations to leadership
- Promote compliance with Medtronic policies, quality systems, applicable regulations, and ethical business practices
- Travel as needed to support customers, field teams, meetings, and business priorities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of relevant sales, clinical, or related experience; or Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, life sciences, business development, or complex solution selling
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, identify opportunities, and influence decisions across complex customer environments
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a matrixed organization
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
- Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy
- Experience with spine, cranial, biologics, enabling technologies, robotics, navigation, imaging, or related surgical technologies preferred
- Experience working with hospitals, integrated delivery networks, health systems, or large strategic accounts preferred
- Established relationships with healthcare professionals and executive-level customers preferred
- Experience developing market strategies, business cases, or customer value propositions preferred
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to guide business decisions preferred
- For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required at the time of hire and for the duration of employment
