Job Description
Configuration & Quality Manager overseeing configuration control and quality systems for aerospace projects. Driving quality assurance in a fast-scaling aerospace environment.
Responsibilities:
- Own and enforce configuration control across hardware, software, and technical data
- Define, implement, and continuously improve configuration management (CM) processes, standards, and tools
- Develop and maintain Configuration Management Plans (CMPs) at program and enterprise level
- Serve as system owner and administrator for the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
- Establish and control part numbering schemes, bills of materials (BOMs), item attributes and lifecycle states
- Own the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process end-to-end and establish and maintain product baselines (design, build, as-built)
- Lead the Configuration Control Board (CCB): Drive decisions, prevent uncontrolled change, and ensure closure of actions
- Support and prepare for configuration audits, manufacturing and readiness reviews, and design reviews
- Compile and validate End Item Data Packages (EIDPs) for delivered products
- Interface across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management to maintain a single authoritative data source
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree (or higher) in engineering, technical, or quality-related discipline
- 5–10+ years experience in Configuration Management or Quality Systems or integrated CM/QA roles
- Direct experience in Aerospace, defense, or complex hardware environments
- Hands-on experience administering or serving as a power user of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
- Managing Engineering Change processes (ECO/ECN)
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as AS9100 or ISO 9001
- CAPA and RCCA processes
- Experience integrating CM with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Demonstrated ability to drive actions to closure
- Operate with minimal oversight
- Influence cross-functional teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint)
