Job Description

Employee Benefits Account Manager at Leavitt Heartland Insurance handling large accounts and ensuring client satisfaction through tailored coverage solutions. Strong communication and analytical skills needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and retain book of business (large accounts)
  • Serve as point of contact for client relationships
  • Proactively lead the renewal process in collaboration with clients, carriers, and vendors
  • Analyze client business needs and recommend coverage solutions
  • Assist Employee Benefits Sales Producers with new business and carrier quoting
  • Cross-sell products across all lines of coverage
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Agency Management System (AMS)
  • Assist the producers with account management
  • Participate in renewal meetings
  • Provide timely and thorough resolution to account issues
  • Work additional hours during peak renewal seasons as needed

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of insurance industry experience and/or Employee Benefits experience preferred
  • Active South Dakota Insurance Producer Health & Life license
  • Completion of required HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and carrier training
  • Commitment to ongoing continuing education
  • Knowledge of underwriting principles and self-funded financial arrangements (or willingness to develop expertise)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
