Job Description
Field Sales Merchandiser promoting Wonderful Company grocery brands across Santa Monica-area stores. Managing retail relationships, merchandising displays, product distribution, and marketing programs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain 60+ grocery retail relationships within an assigned 30+ mile range territory
- Determine the best in-store locations for Wonderful brand products by building and moving displays
- Rotate and stock authorized products during grocery store calls
- Maintain schematic integrity while completing re-merchandising projects, grand openings, and remodels
- Develop relationships with retailer personnel and supervisors to facilitate account penetration
- Sell, up-sell, and maintain retail distribution of authorized products across assigned stores
- Accurately record data-gathering objectives using company handheld devices
- Execute, maintain, and monitor company marketing initiatives and programs
- Maintain POS and coupon/tie-in programs
- Provide chain-specific information and communication daily
Requirements:
- Proven retail sales success promoting grocery store products, preferably within food and beverage
- Ability to form partnerships with store and produce managers
- Ability to provide compelling rationales to store management staff to display and purchase against the competition
- Prior experience and understanding of managing a large store territory and daily drive time
- Excellent selling, negotiation, and partnership-building skills
- Detail-oriented, goal-minded, and problem-solving ability while working independently
- Effective interpersonal and time management skills
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Clean driving record; background check will be conducted
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Capability to work early mornings with a 7am start time
- Travel to Los Angeles, CA 3–4 times a year is required, as permitted by the company
- Live within territory boundaries as established
- Minimal overnight travel may be required depending on territory
