Job Description
HR Specialist advising FDA employees on federal retirement, benefits and work-life programs. Supporting OBAN Corporation’s federal agency client through centralized shared services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative services, advice, guidance and assistance to FDA employees and managers
- Support employees and managers in employee benefits, work life programs and Reasonable Accommodations
- Participate as part of a new centralized shared services model team
- Advise on retirement planning, including voluntary retirement, early retirement, disability retirement and death in service
- Support federal employee benefits programs including FEHB, HDHP with HSA, FSA, FEGLI and long-term care insurance
- Support EAP, FMLA, reasonable accommodations, VLTP and workers compensation programs
- Participate in informational forums sponsored by OPM, providers or other groups
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience within a federal agency environment
- Experience with retirement and benefits administration in the federal sector
- Current knowledge of federal benefits administration and work life programs
- Working knowledge of federal HR laws and regulations related to retirement and benefits
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to navigate complex situations and provide effective solutions
- Strong analytical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Ethical and professional conduct with commitment to confidentiality and integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), HRIS and other relevant software
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance
