Job Description
HR benefits specialist advising FDA employees on federal retirement, insurance, leave and work-life programs. OBAN Corporation delivers management solutions for mission-critical public-sector challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative services, advice, guidance and assistance to FDA employees and managers regarding employee benefits, work life programs and Reasonable Accommodations
- Support a federal agency client as part of a new centralized shared services model team
- Advise on retirement planning, including voluntary retirement, early retirement, disability retirement and death in service
- Support administration of FEHB, HDHP with HSA, FSA, FEGLI and long-term care insurance programs
- Support Employee Assistance Programs, FMLA, reasonable accommodations, VLTP and workers compensation
- Participate in informational forums sponsored by OPM, providers or other groups
- Navigate complex situations and provide effective solutions while managing multiple priorities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience within a federal agency environment
- Experience with retirement and benefits administration in the federal sector
- Current knowledge of federal benefits administration and work life programs
- Working knowledge of federal HR laws and regulations relative to retirement and benefits
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to navigate complex situations and provide effective solutions
- Strong analytical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Ethical and professional conduct with a commitment to confidentiality and integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), HRIS and other relevant software
- Experience working in a shared services model team is a plus
- Active Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance
