Job Description

Capture/Business Development Manager leading R&D funding strategies at Niobium Microsystems. Focused on developing partnerships with government and commercial sectors for advanced semiconductor solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Niobium’s R&D business strategy for federal research, development and transition funding.
  • Develop and execute capture and business development strategy for federal research and development and technology transition funding.
  • Analyze commercial customer needs utilizing market research, competitive intelligence, and knowledge of industry trends.
  • Strategically align Niobium’s R&D technologies Technical Readiness Levels (TRL) roadmap with government mission and commercial opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Niobium Engineering and Operations team members by providing regular updates and partnering on forecasts, resource planning, and existing technology roadmap progress.
  • Build relationships with potential business partners and customers to build a network of partners to further Niobium’s strategic business development pursuits.
  • Collaborate internally and externally to qualify leads, create quality proposals, and win new work.
  • Own the execution of all proposal stages and all aspects of communication to all stakeholders.
  • Manage capture resources effectively including budgets, optimizing utilization and ensuring alignment with financial targets.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience within capture management, business development, or related roles
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry preferred
  • Exposure to federal R&D funding and technology transition highly preferred
  • Experience with establishing and maintaining a network of government contacts preferred.
  • Excellent cross functional collaboration and communication skills with proven success in highly cross functional roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • MBA Preferred
  • Strong technical skills enabling strong understanding of technical opportunities and maintaining partnerships with prospective programs.
  • Well versed and knowledgeable within the Government Funding ecosystem.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze market trend data to inform business decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively.
  • Attention to detail and remarkable eye for accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Adaptable and willing to take on many roles in a fast changing business environment
