Job Description
Senior Director driving Olympic and National Governing Body sponsorship sales for PIVOT, a Bay Area sports and entertainment agency. Managing partnerships, client relationships, and sales teams ahead of LA 2028.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the business vertical within the property team, managing initial client relationships and future growth of the Olympic and National Governing Body business
- Drive new business sponsorship sales for National Governing Body and Olympic clients represented by PIVOT
- Leverage NGB contacts and national corporate relationships to drive foundational partnerships leading up to the LA 2028 Olympics
- Provide consultative commercial rights strategy covering IP, licensing, hospitality, partnership and activation opportunities
- Lead sales presentations and outbound sales efforts
- Manage and train business development executives and assist with client and prospect communications
- Cross-sell clients across PIVOT properties, brand, hospitality and other verticals
- Manage a personal book of business, including prospecting, lead origination, proposal development and closing
- Directly manage accounts and relationships as the main point of contact between clients and the PIVOT sales team
- Lead within the property sales division while managing direct reports
- Lead executive-level communication with new and existing clients
- Provide regular progress reports on business development goals and outreach
- Assist PIVOT executive staff on special projects
- Meet and exceed individual revenue goals, conduct daily sales activity, communicate sales outreach and pipeline projections, and represent company objectives and values
Requirements:
- BA/BS in Business, Sports Management, Marketing or other related disciplines
- 5-7+ years of experience in sponsorship sales, marketing and business development with a National Governing Body or USOPC
- Expert knowledge and understanding of sports sponsorship landscape
- Existing book of business and industry relationships
- Leader who can energize people and teams, and drive cross-functional team collaboration
- An appropriate level of drive and toughness to effectively manage multiple demanding critical projects in a fast-paced, technical environment, and rapidly evolving industry
- Firm grasp of available networking platforms within the sports management industry
- Advanced negotiation skills
- Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills
- Acute attention to detail, organization and efficiency
- Experience using MS Office, Salesforce and Google Suite
