Job Description
Business Development Manager expanding Flowserve's industrial vacuum solutions across North America. Driving market entry, key-account growth, sales strategy, and vacuum application development.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Flowserve's Medium-High and Rough Vacuum success through penetration of new markets, applications, and customers within the USA, Canada, and LATAM
- Lead strategic market entry, key-account development, line-expansion strategies, product development collaboration, and acquisition opportunities
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities
- Align target markets, applications, and customers with Flowserve's strategic objectives
- Directly target and win customers, developing them into mature accounts
- Develop and implement regional market entry and expansion strategies
- Identify new business opportunities and maintain existing key accounts
- Work cross-functionally to execute regional growth strategies
- Collaborate with Sales Directors to deliver market feedback and adapt strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with key regional accounts
- Identify and develop the top key accounts, including tailored account plans and performance management
- Collaborate with Product Management and New Product Development on regional product needs
- Conduct market surveillance and advise on acquisition and white-label opportunities
- Participate in product launch planning and execution
- Develop regional value propositions and support promotional campaigns with Marketing
- Provide market insights and customer feedback
- Identify key exhibitions, conferences, trade bodies, and institutes
- Provide sales teams with market intelligence, strategic guidance, and training
- Develop regional sales strategies to improve market penetration and achieve sales targets
- Engage customers and support critical meetings
- Monitor direct sales and distribution performance to identify vacuum opportunities
- Develop Challenger Sales assessments, stories, and strategies for target accounts
- Prepare reports on penetration progress, market trends, bookings, key-account performance, and strategic goals
- Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Industrial Medium-High Vacuum
- Experience in Thin Film Coating, Li-Battery Manufacture & Recycling, Space-simulation, Pharmaceutical API processing, and/or Chemical Processing
- Willingness to travel up to 40% throughout the region and occasionally globally
- Proven record of successful OEM-type market penetration and strategy execution
- Strategic mindset with proven track record of focused mapping, competitor displacement, breakthrough, and penetration
- Ability to leverage opportunities through organized team coordination and cross-functional orchestration
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Application knowledge of Medium-High (dry) Vacuum and Rough (Liquid Ring) pumping solutions
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data and market trends, diagnose problems, and deliver application solutions
