Job Description

AbbVie Digestive Account Executive driving CREON and Linzess sales across targeted healthcare accounts. Developing account strategies, business plans, and partnerships to increase market share across assigned U.S. territories.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coordinate, and execute account-based sales strategies for targeted group practices, IDNs, hospitals, specialty pharmacies, and other accounts
  • Implement and optimize account-level initiatives and pull-through strategies
  • Manage strategic business relationships with key decision-makers and senior management
  • Identify and leverage business opportunities, maximize resource utilization, and increase sales and market share for CREON and Linzess
  • Create, implement, and communicate strategic and tactical plans for targeted accounts
  • Drive account pull-through and address issues with field sales management, sales representatives, and cross-functional partners
  • Monitor progress and provide written and verbal feedback to stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain account strategies to consistently penetrate identified accounts
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders across functions and management levels
  • Provide business plans and regular opportunity assessments to leadership and field selling teams
  • Provide strategic and tactical direction to district teams regarding target accounts
  • Conduct regular interactions with district managers and representatives regarding account dynamics and market factors
  • Collaborate across channels and stakeholders to uncover insights and lead high-impact solutions
  • Advise sales and marketing management on challenges and opportunities within key target accounts
  • Develop annual business plans to increase sales volume and market share
  • Identify market-level opportunities and threats and develop action plans
  • Share ideas and best practices and help sales teams maximize opportunities
  • Advise area district managers and representatives on account executive initiatives and selling opportunities
  • Anticipate change and take proactive measures
  • Analyze current and future business opportunities
  • Apply understanding of business negotiations, managed care implications, and customer-environment drivers
  • Adhere to corporate and divisional compliance policies and guidelines

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of successful selling experience, including a minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical sales
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting pharmaceutical products, including CFR 210/211 and cGMP
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical market, trends, and issues
  • GI experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of account management and the account executive role
  • Strong sales and customer partnership skills and demonstrated success
  • High strategic, analytical, and technical expertise
  • Ability to operate in a matrix organization and coordinate with AbbVie selling-team members
  • Demonstrated ability to network and partner across functional areas while building and inspiring teams without direct authority
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe-driving requirements
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements for assigned facilities and organizations
  • Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain required HCIR credentials
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
  • Must be willing to travel 50% of the time
