Job Description

Digestive Account Executive driving CREON and Linzess sales for AbbVie, an innovative pharmaceutical company. Managing strategic healthcare accounts, sales plans, market opportunities, and cross-functional pull-through initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coordinate, and execute account-based sales strategies in targeted group practices, IDNs, hospitals, specialty pharmacies, and other accounts
  • Implement and optimize account-level initiatives and pull-through strategies
  • Manage strategic business relationships with key decision-makers and senior management
  • Identify and leverage business opportunities to increase sales and market share for CREON and Linzess
  • Create, implement, and communicate strategic and tactical plans for targeted accounts
  • Drive account pull-through and address issues with field sales management, sales representatives, and cross-functional partners
  • Monitor progress and provide written and verbal feedback to stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain innovative account strategies to penetrate identified accounts
  • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders across functions and management levels
  • Provide business plans and regular opportunity assessments to leadership and field selling teams
  • Develop product strategies and provide direction to district teams and sales representatives
  • Analyze account dynamics, market factors, business opportunities, and threats
  • Collaborate across channels and stakeholders to identify insights and high-impact solutions
  • Advise sales and marketing management on challenges and opportunities within key accounts
  • Develop annual business plans with goals and objectives for sales volume and market share growth
  • Share ideas and best practices and help sales teams maximize account opportunities
  • Anticipate changes and take proactive measures
  • Apply understanding of business negotiations, managed care implications, and customer-environment drivers
  • Adhere to corporate and divisional compliance policies and guidelines

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of successful selling experience required, including at least 2 years in pharmaceutical sales
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting pharmaceutical products, including CFR 210/211 and cGMP
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical market, trends, and issues
  • GI experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of account management and the account executive role
  • Strong sales and customer partnership skills and success
  • Strategic, analytical, and technical expertise
  • Ability to operate in a matrix organization
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate closely with AbbVie selling team members
  • Ability to network and partner across functional areas and build and inspire teams without direct authority
  • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material handling equipment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
  • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain them
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
  • Preferred: 4–5 years of successful selling experience
  • Preferred: 1–2 years of account-based pharmaceutical sales experience
