Job Description

Account Manager growing Wella’s professional beauty brands across Boston and Rhode Island. Acquiring salons, expanding customer relationships, and delivering territory sales targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain new Mid to Top Tier Hair Salons using the Wella Color Portfolio and retail lines
  • Maintain and grow current Wella customers
  • Grow Wella market share within the defined territory
  • Increase penetration of Wella, Sebastian, Nioxin, Briogeo, ghd and OPI brands
  • Conduct disciplined journey planning and visit existing and prospective accounts daily, averaging a minimum of 10 calls per day
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets for territory turnover, buying accounts, brands, innovations, and initiatives
  • Target, profile, and convert prospective salons and spas into customers
  • Develop strong and profitable business partnerships with salons
  • Report and forecast monthly sales, promotions, and initiatives accurately
  • Work with the direct manager and cross-functional internal resources to plan and execute strategic plans

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 3 years (or MBA plus 1 year) of business experience in professional Salon Industry Sales, Category Management or Retail Management
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Digitally savvy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • PowerBI experience preferred
  • 70% in field time, including driving to salon/customer meetings
  • Up to 20% overnight travel
  • Able to travel via air for training and sales meetings at minimum 1-2 times per year
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and clear focus on deliverables
  • Accountable for the success of the territory; intensively driven, tenacious, and determined
  • Owner mindset
  • Commitment to higher targets without compromising ethical behavior and safe ways of working
  • Effective prospecting and sales skills, with at least 12-15 months direct selling experience in field
  • Experience using a consultative approach to business development
  • Very organized and highly disciplined
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization
