Job Description

Mattel live-events associate managing Day Out With Thomas touring events across the US and Canada. Coordinating railroad partners, marketing, retail operations, logistics, and onsite execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned host railroads
  • Manage site planning, marketing, retail operations, and activities planning for assigned events
  • Review and provide input on marketing, site layout, entertainment, and final operating plans
  • Coordinate internal and railroad partners to improve event experiences
  • Travel to assigned events and assist with setup, execution, and breakdown
  • Set up inflatables, banners, retail racks, merchandise, gift shops, and play areas
  • Ensure the Thomas replica remains pristine and on brand
  • Observe events and identify improvement opportunities
  • Pack and ship event assets, merchandise, and touring equipment
  • Create event reports and submit final invoices and return information
  • Clean and repair touring crates and track touring assets
  • Develop ideas and proposals for new event assets
  • Obtain daily ticket-sales documentation and monitor weekend capacity
  • Communicate national marketing initiatives and drive reactive marketing programs
  • Review, recommend, and approve railroad marketing and advertising plans
  • Run post-event reports, including ZIP-code and promo-code analyses
  • Champion social media, influencer, and special marketing efforts
  • Brainstorm seasonal theme activations and onsite delivery

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • Ability to travel approximately 70% of the time
  • Ability to lift approximately 30 lbs
  • Live events, themed attractions, or ticketed touring shows experience preferred
  • Strong written and oral presentation and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to lead and manage teams
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Professional representation of Mattel while traveling and working with partners
