Job Description

Operations Manager delivering physical and digital B2B events for Tahaluf, Saudi Arabia’s major event organiser. Managing budgets, suppliers, compliance, and operations teams across Portfolio 3.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the key point of contact for show teams on allocated shows
  • Set, regularly forecast, and achieve operational show budgets
  • Manage successful show operations and technical delivery for multiple physical and digital events, features, and related tasks
  • Manage production and implementation of show project plans and deadlines
  • Ensure events comply with company Health & Safety, Security, and Sustainability guidelines
  • Implement internal and external Service Level Agreements
  • Oversee production and delivery of the show exhibitor manual
  • Coordinate suppliers, show teams, and sponsors on briefs, design, feature production, and signage
  • Manage registration areas and the overall welcome experience
  • Compile post-event reports and KPI analysis
  • Monitor key contractors with Procurement and identify remedial action
  • Manage, mentor, and develop line reports and other EMEA Operations team members
  • Set and monitor performance objectives and identify training needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues on operational planning and management best practices
  • Complete HSS Operating Model requirements and embed continual improvement in event planning
  • Collaborate with Informa H&S and Sustainability teams

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Strong and effective verbal and written skills in Arabic and English
  • 5 years of events or exhibition industry experience or similar
  • Independently and successfully managed operations on multiple large events to a consistently high standard
  • Experience managing, supporting, and developing multiple line reports simultaneously
  • Good working knowledge of the exhibition industry and venues
  • Great working relationship with official contractors
  • Effective communication skills with Operations team members and Director Level individuals
  • Familiarity with good procurement practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Ability to anticipate problems and put contingency plans in place
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines with attention to detail under pressure
  • Willingness and ability to travel/work across differing time zones, especially within the EMEA region
  • Proven knowledge of exhibition H&S Guidelines and implementation
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in commonly used business software and project management software
  • IOSH Managing Safety Certificate or equivalent as a minimum
  • Prior large budget management skill is a plus
